Moments later I saw this new study which explains why I feel so awkward about self-promotion. Spoiler: because I'm a girl. Anyone who has read a little about the gender pay gap knows that men are more likely to apply for positions that they don't have the skills for, and this article details another nuance that makes it harder for women to get ahead.

I was supposed to travel to Italy next week. I won't be going, due to the Corona Virus and my unwillingness to bother with quarantines, registrations of whereabouts and other associated travel snafus. I'm not so much worried about contracting the virus, We're all going to get it eventually.
