Maybe I'm determined

Apparently, I needed a break. For the past couple of weeks I've not kept much track of what I've been doing. As far as I can remember, I was eating, drinking and being merry. There was obligatory family time, too much Glühwein, the things you might expect from December. I got a bit antsy and took a spontaneous trip to Turkey. I've been diving and wandering in the deserted wonderland that is summer holiday world in the winter. I'm surrounded by a speed of life that feels much more conducive to creative endeavor.

I spent a little time on Monday redesigning my website. Sort of recommitting to using it this year. Have a quick look at my landing page, what do you think? I also finally set up some automation for sharing my own work. Now I just need to tackle the 700 other things I thought about tackling in 2019 and then just didn't.

Maybe I'm optimistic

On the way home I continued reading the Wait But Why series the Story of Us. The tenth chapter highlights some important points about filter bubbles and bias, and I've been feeling like I don't want to be so angry. It's hard though because the world is on fire.
|
On Monday I have my first work trip, and I'm excited. I'll be keynoting at the Red Hat Forum in Darmstadt, using my stage time to give some hope about climate change and offer everyone a little personal agency. What we do matters, so maybe we should do more for our Earth.

It's time to get back to work, and I have a Friday to-do list a mile long. I was still traveling this week. I'm behind and it's the first week of the year.
