Maybe I'm emotive

This week I learned that a "talk" I'm giving at Open Source Summit Europe in a week is actually a three hour workshop. So I felt scrambley as I started to threw together an agenda on Inclusivity and Unconscious Bias (feel free to comment). Then I realized I actually know what I'm talking about and didn't finish it. Something for next week.

I stress myself out. I know. Rationally I know. Lately it's been a lot of rumination and what I've noticed is that I am "reflecting", but anxious. Or, I'm "regretting", but planning. The framework does not provide insight into thinking diagonally instead of "above-the-line" or "below-the-line".

Maybe I'm derogatory

There's always an angle to take in the war for political correctness. I shouldn't have said "war" because using it in this way downplays the seriousness of inter-species violence. Or whatever. In this episode of Everything is Derogatory™, we look at a tweet in which someone wishes to replace the words "blind spot" with "dead angle" because, they argue, "blind spot" is an ableist term. Of course I'll always argue that accessibility matters, but I would also argue that "dead" is an ableist term.

Maybe I need help?

I have MORE Maybe Zombies edits, but I am not sure I'm going to get to them soon. With the Greenpeace / Red Hat thing in full swing, plus Co-op clients, conference season and general stress, I haven't found time for my beloved novel. You should buy it before I do though, because once I get those edits in, I'll probably want to raise the price again. Maybe. Idk. Did you know you can:
