Maybe I'm a reader

I appreciated this quick reflection Aaron Davis wrote about the New Yorker article "Is Amazon Unstoppable". I am always interested in capitalism run amok. I battle Amazon by boycotting Amazon. I also boycott everything that is Facebook owned because they really couldn't be anymore idiotic. None of this is new.

What is, however, new is my purchase of an e-reader. My visceral pain at the thought of not holding a physical book is long-winded and undocumented. Suffice to say that while I understand the rationale behind an ebook, I didn't want one. I like the weight of books. The smell of pages. The bookstores. It is not rational.

But rationality found me, during a recent trip when I could barely lift my carry-on bag because I had traveled with four physical books and bought three more. It's an addiction, I guess. In any case, I decided that I will continue to read physical books, often and mostly at home. For the books I devour while bouncing around the world for work and life, I bought myself a Kobo Aura H2O. It supports 14 formats, and Maybe Zombies was the first book I put on it.

Maybe I'm tinkering

I have the feeling that I didn't accomplish so much this week. I had a lot of things flying around that I needed to deal with. Loose ends as it were. But I did enough this year, didn't I? Can I start hibernating yet? Or just hiding?

Most of my week was spent doing Co-op things. I have much more I'm eager to do, having just started tinkering with some new pages on the co-op site. I feel like webmaking today, so I'm going to get to it.

Maybe I need help?

Yes, I do. I've somehow decided to develop an addiction to advent calendars and have already purchased three for myself and two for others. I want to buy more of them. MOAR ADVENT CALENDARS.
