Maybe I'm proud?

Yesterday was celebration day because we've wrapped up the Catalyst Definition Project. We sent our ten charities on their way with big plans and big confidence. We heard presentations and saw prototypes and I felt pride. Then I saw a post from a charity who was in our Catalyst Discovery cohort (also ten charities) last year and felt more pride. They're building a CBT tool for young people. Last year, we helped this charity zone in on their ideas and do user research. Now they are prototyping with existing tech, which makes my heart sing. FWIW Greenpeace is the only charity I've ever advised to build fully bespoke tech, and part of that advice was "But build it openly and on top of Wordpress."

Our impact in this work ripples out across time, and I'm feeling proud about that today.

We have some closing out the project rituals to deal with, but otherwise I regain a bit of control over my weeks. This is good news for me because I've not had time for several months, and I need a little time. I'm proud, yes, but also friggin exhausted.

Maybe I'm laughing?

Don't worry, I'm not falling in Qanon rabbit hole but did you know about this adrenochrome thing? This is the reason leftie elites are a satanic pedophile cabal. The cabal exists to harvest cells from fearful kids a lá Monsters Inc. They then oxidate adrenaline outputs and make an absolutely pointless drug that Hunter S Thompson said wasn't good. You'd think one would trust Hunter S Thompson's opinion on that topic. Wow this article was a fun read for me.

I also read a funny/terrifying article about Tucker Carlson, but I'm not sharing it. Tucker has replaced Trump in the "who can make intelligent people most disgusted for our species" campaign the Right has got going on, so I'll opine that paying that asshat attention is a bad move from the left. Fame dies in darkness, and I would be fine with Tucker Carlson and his ilk dying.

Last week I shared a link to a post on the Barnum Effect, the cognitive bias that makes you see yourself in horoscopes and personality effects. The same thing happens with Spy Agency Reports on stuff happening in the future. Oh yeah? Stuff continues to be the way it is? Wow! What great insight!

What else do you want to read about today? Germany is getting a new chancellor. The Greens have nice PR that talks about their ability and desire to collaborate. They seem to have the kind of leadership the world is ripe for, but, of course, this sort of leadership is often publicised and rarely seen. What people do behind the curtain is continue to promote 20th century behaviours. I asked a party member I happen to know about this and they wrote

"I'm not experiencing cooperation instead of competition...I'm seeing tactics, careerists, opportunists and reluctance towards new ideas..."

Yeah, no surprise. Being badass enough to reject your capitalist instincts and behave in a way that shows that rejection of mainstream societal norms is a lifelong endeavour and it can be really hard.

Maybe I need help?

If I ate two pieces of fish and an onion for dinner every single day, I would not smile and listen for the birds. So I guess I don't need help because I'm super privileged and can eat all kinds of stuff.
